FAQ

Q1: Why choose C46400 Naval Brass over 60/40 brass?
A: Tin (0.5–1%) enhances dezincification and seawater corrosion resistance, making it superior for marine applications.

Q2: Is C46400 suitable for saltwater exposure?
A: Yes, it resists zinc leaching and corrosion in marine environments.

Q3: What tempers are available?
A: H02 (half-hard), H04, etc. Strength and elongation vary with temper.

Q4: Is it lead-free?
A: Typically ≤0.2% Pb; some variants marketed as lead-reduced or "lead-free".

Q5: What fabrication methods are suitable?
A: Hot working (forging, forming) is excellent; cold working is fair; machining requires proper tool selection.

Q6: What sizes and product forms are available?
A: Round, square, hex bars, plates, sheets, and tubes in ASTM / EN standard sizes.
