Welding Performance
316L stainless steel plate has excellent weldability and can be welded by TIG, MIG, resistance welding and other common stainless steel welding methods. Because of its low carbon content, 316L is suitable for welded structures where resistance to intergranular corrosion is important.
For highly corrosive service environments, post-weld cleaning, pickling or passivation is recommended to restore the stainless steel passive layer and improve long-term corrosion resistance.
Corrosion Resistance
