Why the Nickel (Ni) and Chromium (Cr) Content is Critical
Nickel (35%): Provides austenitic stability, ductility, and resistance to thermal cycling, carburization, and chlorine-containing atmospheres.
Chromium (19%): Forms a protective, adherent chromium oxide scale on the surface, providing excellent resistance to oxidation (scaling) and sulfidation.
Why the Silicon (Si) Content is Critical:
Silicon further enhances the formation of a protective surface scale, significantly improving resistance to carburization (carbon pickup) and sulfidation (sulfur attack). The higher silicon in N08332 makes it the preferred choice for the most severe conditions.
