Resistance to Chlorides: They are far more resistant to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking (SCC) than standard 304/316 stainless steels.
General Corrosion: Excellent resistance to a wide range of acids, including sulfuric, phosphoric, and organic acids.
2. Mechanical Properties (per ASTM B677):
The standard specifies minimum mechanical properties for the pipe in the annealed condition. Typical values are:
Tensile Strength: 94 - 110 ksi (650 - 760 MPa)
Yield Strength (0.2% Offset): 45 - 65 ksi (310 - 450 MPa)
Elongation: 35% minimum (in 2 inches / 50mm)
