UNS C17000 Beryllium Copper Alloy Supplier
Dongmeng Group supplies UNS C17000 beryllium copper, also known as Alloy 165, in sheet, strip, plate, rod, bar, wire and custom-processed forms.
C17000 is a precipitation-hardening copper alloy designed for applications requiring a combination of high mechanical strength, fatigue resistance, electrical conductivity, wear resistance and dimensional stability.
The alloy is commonly selected for electrical contacts, springs, diaphragms, precision components, aerospace hardware, plastic mould components, pump parts and other demanding industrial applications.
What Is UNS C17000 Beryllium Copper?
UNS C17000 is a wrought copper-beryllium alloy containing approximately 1.7% beryllium.
It can be supplied in a softer solution-treated condition for forming and machining, or in precipitation-hardened and mill-hardened tempers for higher strength and hardness.
The final performance of C17000 depends strongly on the product form, thickness, cold-work level and heat-treatment condition. Buyers should therefore specify both the alloy number and the required temper when requesting a quotation.
C17000 should not be confused with C17200. Although both are high-strength copper-beryllium alloys, C17000 has a lower nominal beryllium content.
C17000 Chemical Composition
| Element | Composition |
| Beryllium, Be | 1.60–1.85% |
| Cobalt, Co | 0.20% minimum |
| Nickel + Cobalt | 0.20% minimum |
| Nickel + Iron + Cobalt | 0.60% maximum |
| Aluminium, Al | 0.20% maximum |
| Silicon, Si | 0.20% maximum |
| Copper + Named Elements | 99.5% minimum |
| Copper, Cu | Remainder |
Chemical composition should be verified through the material certificate supplied with the order.
Available Product Forms and Standards
| Product Form | Applicable Standard | Typical Supply Condition |
| Plate, Sheet and Strip | ASTM B194 | TB00, TD, TF, TH or TM tempers |
| Rolled Bar | ASTM B194 | According to order specification |
| Rod and Straight Bar | ASTM B196/B196M | TB00, TD04, TF00 or TH04 |
| Wire | ASTM B197/B197M | Temper according to diameter and application |
| Forgings and Extrusions | ASTM B570 | TB00 or TF00 |
| Custom Components | Customer drawing | Material and temper confirmed before production |
When an ASTM specification is stated without a UNS alloy designation, the standard may default to C17200. Purchase orders should therefore clearly state UNS C17000.

Understanding C17000 Tempers
TB00 - Solution Treated
TB00 offers relatively low strength and high ductility. It is suitable when substantial forming or machining is required before final precipitation heat treatment.
TD Tempers - Solution Treated and Cold Worked
TD01, TD02 and TD04 represent increasing levels of cold work. Higher cold work generally increases strength while reducing elongation.
TF and TH Tempers - Precipitation Hardened
TF00 is solution treated and precipitation hardened. TH tempers combine cold work and precipitation hardening to achieve higher strength.
TM Tempers - Mill Hardened
Mill-hardened material is supplied with controlled mechanical properties and may eliminate the need for the buyer to carry out final aging.
The correct temper should be selected according to forming requirements, final strength, conductivity, dimensional tolerance and production process.
