What is mild steel checker plate sheet and what is it used for?
Steel checker plate is flat metal sheet with a raised pattern on the top surface which is designed to aid grip and reducing slipping. Checker plate is also known as tread plate, Durbar floor plate, or Positive Grip Pattern (PGP) floor plate. With a smooth reverse side, the top side of our checker plate features a raised regular ellipse pattern that provides extra grip.
Steel checker plate is often used on walkways, stairs, ramps, on the inside of vans commercial vehicles, and for protecting walls. It is widely used in industrial, shopfitting, and interior design applications.
Our checker plate sheet is manufactured from S235JR grade which has excellent machinability, and good weldability and formability properties. This plate presentation is easy to cut, drill, and weld.
