Railway Rail Supplier

Railway rail, also called steel rail, train track rail or railroad rail, is the main load-bearing component of railway track systems. It supports wheel loads, guides train movement, transfers dynamic impact to sleepers and ballast, and determines the safety, service life and maintenance cost of the whole track system.

Xi'an Dongmeng Group Co., Ltd. supplies railway rails for mainline railways, metro systems, mining tracks, port crane runways, industrial logistics lines, temporary railways and heavy-duty lifting systems. Our product range covers heavy rail, light rail, crane rail, AREMA rail, UIC rail, GB rail, JIS rail and BS rail.

For international railway projects, rail selection must match the required standard, rail profile, steel grade, axle load, speed, curve radius, traffic density and installation environment. EN 13674-1 applies to Vignole railway rails with a linear mass of 46 kg/m and above for conventional and high-speed railway tracks, and specifies multiple pearlitic steel grades and rail profiles.

Why Railway Rail Quality Matters

Steel rail is exposed to repeated wheel contact stress, vibration, impact, bending load, thermal expansion and surface wear. Poor rail quality may cause premature deformation, cracking, excessive wear, rail head damage or unstable track geometry.

High-quality railway rail should provide:

High tensile strength and hardness

Good wear resistance under repeated wheel contact

Stable straightness and dimensional tolerance

Strong fatigue resistance

Reliable weldability and machinability

Consistent chemical composition

Complete inspection records and MTC traceability

For example, common EN rail grades include R260 and R350HT. Mechanical property references show R260 with around 880 MPa minimum tensile strength and 260–300 HB hardness, while R350HT reaches around 1175 MPa minimum tensile strength and 350–390 HB hardness, making it suitable for heavier wear conditions and demanding track sections.

Product performance

Steel Railway Rail

High intensity

Railway steel rails have high tensile and yield strength, capable of withstanding the enormous pressure and impact produced during train operations. Our steel rails can achieve a tensile strength exceeding [specific value] MPa and a yield strength exceeding [specific value] MPa, ensuring that no deformation or fracture occurs during long-term use, thus ensuring the safety of railway transportation.

High toughness

Good toughness is one of the important properties of railway tracks. Our tracks have high impact toughness and fracture toughness, which can effectively absorb the impact energy generated during train operation, reducing damage and the formation of fatigue cracks in the rails. Even in harsh working environments, the tracks can maintain good toughness, extending their service life.

Heavy-Duty Railway Rail

Wear resistance

Railway tracks are subject to friction and wear from wheels during long-term use, therefore wear resistance is one of the important indicators for measuring rail performance. Our tracks use special alloy components and heat treatment processes to give their surfaces high hardness and wear resistance, effectively resisting wheel wear, reducing the amount of rail wear, and increasing the service life of the tracks.

Good welding performance

During the laying process of railway tracks, welding is required, making good welding performance one of the important characteristics of the tracks. Our tracks use advanced welding processes and materials to ensure that the quality and performance of the welded joints are comparable to that of the base material. The welded joints exhibit good strength, toughness, and wear resistance, meeting the requirements of railway transportation.

Industrial Railway Rail

Application fields

High-speed Rail

High-speed rail has extremely high performance requirements for rails, needing characteristics such as high strength, high toughness, high smoothness, and low noise. Our railway rails use advanced production processes and high-quality raw materials, capable of meeting the operational requirements of high-speed railways and providing strong guarantees for the safety and smooth operation of high-speed trains.

Heavy rail

Heavy-haul railways are primarily used for transporting large quantities of goods, which requires high load-bearing capacity and wear resistance of the rails. Our railway tracks have high tensile strength and wear resistance, capable of withstanding the immense pressure and friction from heavy freight trains, extending the lifespan of the tracks and reducing operational costs.

Railway Track Steel

Ordinary Railway

Ordinary railway is an important component of China's railway transportation, carrying a large volume of passenger and freight traffic. Our railway rails are suitable for various types of ordinary railway lines, capable of meeting different volume and speed requirements, ensuring safety and efficiency in railway transportation.

Urban Rail Transit

Urban rail transit includes subways, light rail, and trams, with high requirements for noise control and passenger comfort. Our railway rails use special processes and materials that effectively reduce noise during train operation and improve passenger comfort, while also featuring good wear resistance and fatigue resistance to meet the long-term operational needs of urban rail transit.

FAQ

1. What railway rail standards can you supply?

We can supply railway rails according to EN 13674, UIC 860, AREMA, JIS E1101, GB 2585, BS 11 and DIN crane rail standards.

2. What is the difference between R260 and R350HT rail?

R260 is a standard rail steel grade with balanced strength and wear resistance. R350HT is a heat-treated grade with higher hardness and better wear resistance, suitable for heavy-haul lines, curves and high-wear sections.

3. Can you supply UIC60 rail?

Yes. We can supply UIC60 / 60E1 rail with standard dimensions, project-based length, MTC and inspection reports.

4. Can you supply AREMA rail for North America?

Yes. Common AREMA rail types include 115RE, 132RE and 136RE. We can quote according to buyer drawings and project specifications.

5. Can railway rail be galvanized?

For mainline railway applications, the surface treatment should follow the engineering standard and project specification. For crane rail, mining rail and outdoor industrial rail, hot-dip galvanizing, painting or anti-rust coating can be considered depending on service conditions.

6. Do you provide cutting and drilling?

Yes. We can provide fixed-length cutting, fishplate hole drilling, end milling and customized processing according to drawings.

7. What documents can you provide?

We can provide MTC EN10204 3.1, chemical composition report, mechanical test report, UT report, dimensional inspection report, packing list, commercial invoice and certificate of origin if required.

8. Do you support third-party inspection?

Yes. SGS, BV, TÜV, Intertek or buyer-appointed inspection can be arranged before shipment.

9. What is your delivery time?

Standard delivery time depends on rail type, grade, length and order quantity. For common specifications, delivery is usually faster; for project-based or special rails, production schedule should be confirmed before order.

10. How can I get an accurate quotation?

Please send us the rail standard, model, grade, length, quantity, processing requirement, destination port and required documents. Our team will provide price, delivery time and technical data sheet.
